Hail Mary Ellen, Full of Patience

Mary Ellen (the wonderful) watched my kids for me yesterday. Kathrynn had the greatest time! She talked the whole way home about how much fun she had and mentioned (twice!) that Mary Ellen didn't yell at her at all.

It's sad to me that my daughters barometer for having a good day includes how much she got yelled at. :-(

I told her that I wished I could be more like Mary Ellen because she has more patience than mommy. She said "I have more patience when I'm with her too."

*sigh*

Holy Cow!

It's been a LONG time since I blogged! Way too long. The sad truth though is nothing has happened. Well nothing exciting enough to blog about I guess.

Mostly I've been working a lot. And then on my days off I've been trying to shuffle Karate, Ballet, and having no car.

Finding babysitters is becoming a problem. Dawn was the best babysitter in the whole damn world! But now that she's moved in with her parents I can no longer use gobs of money as an incentive. Plus I know she really doesn't like babysitting (me either!) so I feel bad asking her to babysit more than once a week.

Erin has babysat for me a couple times so far and that works out ok too. But again I feel bad asking her to do it more than once a week or so.

My sister is there as a last resort but she says the meanest things. Today it was that she doesn't want to babysit Aiden because he's weird and she doesn't understand him. Plus all he does is fight with Nora (her 2 year old). But the truth is it's Nora who picks fights with him! *sigh* She also says that the fact that Kathrynn doesn't go to school is becoming a big issue. She's filled her kids heads with the idea that if they don't go to school they won't learn anything so they're sure that Kathrynn will never learn anything. My sister sees this as a problem with Kathrynn and refuses to take any responsibility for it or tell her kids anything different. So while I don't feel guilt over asking my sister to babysit, I just don't really WANT her to babysit!

I guess the bottom line is I don't want to work anymore. I can't afford to quit because Shawn still doesn't have reliable full time work but I'm really getting tired of having other people be responsible for my kids during the day.

On top of that I work 6 days next week! Including Thanksgiving! :(

I'm thinking of going to Seattle next month. In celebration of having my boobs back! It hit me the other day that I have full custody of my boobs again for the first time in 6 years! So I can go away for the weekend and not feel horribly guilty about it. I've never left the kids for that long. I think it's time. But I still have to see if I can get the time off of work and find the money to do it. We'll see.

How's that for a contradictory post. LOL I want to be home more, I want to go away for a weekend! :)

ROBOTS!

Aiden is in love with robots these days. We rented the new Bionicle Movie for him. He sat at Shawn's computer watching the DVD with a pen and paper drawing all of it. :)

I posted some here.

My Dumbass-In-Law

I've really enjoyed my brother-in-law. I've always enjoyed the newness of getting to know another person one on one. Like a first date. For the last 2 weeks we've been cooped up in the house together most nights while Shawn's at work. Getting to know eachother.

And then the inevitable happened and we had a discussion about 'gay marriage'. And I almost had to ban him from my house entirely!

I HATE HATE HATE people that use the arguement that same sex marriage shouldn't be legal because they can't produce children! WHO THE FUCK CARES???? If marriages that could produce children were ther only ones sanctioned by law there would be a whole hell of a lot less heterosexual marriage. HELL, my husband's parents wouldn't ever have been able to marry and adopt him and his siblings!

*Grrrrrr*

I know someday same sex marriage will be legal, accepted and common place. I just hope I'm around to see it and not locked up in prision for murdering close minded homophobic assholes!

The Computer Fairy

The computer fairy visited my house this evening. In the form of Chelee and Troy. I was making dinner in the kitchen when my bro-in-law called from the living room "Kate (he's taken up calling me Kate :) or sometimes Hon (?)!) There's someone at the door for you". The last one I expected to see was Troy! but there he was proclaiming that they had a present for me. And they did indeed! They gave me their old computer, well, most of it. Some parts are not there but the just of the computer is there!

Shawn will be overjoyed! I thought of putting it under his pillow but I'm afraid I might roll over while sleeping and it would crush my skull. That might darken the festive nature of the gift.

So I'll leave it on the couch and just tell him a computer fairy named Troy dropped it by! :)

NaNoWriMo No Mo!!

I'm now officially 3148 words behind on my novel. I told you my bounding lead wouldn't last long! There are just too many overly distracting things in my house!

*sigh*

No Means No

That's what they say, but haven't you ever heard the word no and taken it more as a personal challenge than a definitive order? You know like when you parents said No parties, or your husband said No sex with his brother? ;-) Just kidding!

But it's funny because I never would have probably considered it but the fact that he's so damn paranoid about it MAKES me think about it, you know? And think about it, and think about it, and think about it...

NaNoWriMo

Off to a flying start on My Novel this morning. I have calculated it out and since I need 50,000 words by the end of the month and there a re 30 days in the months that's only about 1666.66 words per day! :) And today I already have 1850!

So for a brief moment I am ahead of schedule. I need to add an official word count to my blog I guess. :-)
