Language Lessons. ;)

I had a 'date' the other night and on it I learned that the lines on your hands make the numbers 18 and 81. In Arabic. :) It was so interesting that then I had to go online and learn more. I happened upon the Arabic ABC song equivalent. And now my kids run around singing in Arabic. :)

I LOVE the internet!

P.S. I love that after they do the alphabet they go over some very important vocabulary words including Mama, Dada, Freedom, Kinship, Peace and PIGEON! LOL

Slow Progress...

Or none at all?

I got a letter from Value Village. A YOU SUCK letter. Actually it said you are completely qualified for this job and have everything we're looking for, but we hired someone else. :P

I got the email from BFT today too. It said YEAH you passed the test now you get to go to step 2! Wheeeeee So there's still hope on that job. But still, I won't hold my breath.

Feast and Famine

Today I went to Ben Franklin Transit for some preliminary applicant testing for a position as a Dial-A-Ride Operator. I would really like to have this job. But there are 185 applicants for 4 openings. So I won't hold my breath. But it sure would be fantastic.

While I was there Value Village called. I have an interview with them tomorrow. If they offer me a full time job I will probably take it but I will feel kinda finky quitting BK for them. But it's all about the hours, you know.

Apparently being thankful for what I have even when it doesn't seem worth it pays off.

Stuff Happens

I'm not a huge fan of pets in general and if I had to chose between a cat or a dog the dog would win hands down (paws down?). There's something about cats I really don't like. Besides the fur that makes me sneeze and the whole idea of litterboxes in general. But I happened upon this blog today and thought it was cute and that other people who like cats and understand them and live with them and stuff might also enjoy it, so I thought I would share.

As for me I'm starting a new and exciting career at Burger King today. How did this happen you ask. Well I promised myself and the universe that in order to pay my rent this month I would accept whatever job was offered me with a happy heart. The Universe is a bitch though and now I'm working part time for minimum wage at Burger King! On the upside though the manager is cute and lots of fun. And just because I took this job doesn't mean I have to stay here forever. And it MIGHT pay my rent. LOL

Welcome to MySpam.com

I signed up on myspace.com today. I posted a link on my side bar to my incredibly boring space there. LOL

I was amazed when I signed into my email a few hours later and found that suddenly about 15 people wanted to be my friends. I thought "wow this site sure works!" Unfortunately only one of those people was really a person! It was Dawn (and I was happy to have her!) the others are all bands and stuff who presumably just send every new person an invite to be their friend so they can look popular.

Made me sad. I don't know, everyone raves about MySpace but I have to say so far I'm not terribly impressed with them.

Mail Call

I got several pieces of interesting mail in the last couple days.

I got a letter from the Division of Child Support Enforcement for one. They have started a case for me to go after Shawn for child support. Never mind that he's already paying me child support. Apparently it's not enough for them that he and I agree on an amount and he's been paying it faithfully. No, they want to stick their nose in it. And they want to make sure that he's covering the kids on his medical insurance. He is. But it's not enough that he is doing it because he wants to, because it's the right thing to do. No to them it only counts if there's some legal document someplace saying he HAS to! This is so stupid. And such a huge waste of taxpayer money.

I got a letter from the IRS saying I failed to do my taxes correctly, again. This is the third year in the row! I think it's a sign that maybe I shouldn't do my own taxes anymore! LOL This year it was the Additional Child Tax Credit. I checked and double checked and was sure that we didn't qualify for it. But according to them I 'might'. So I did their little worksheet and lo and behold we DID qualify. What this means is another $1800 (wahoo) and another 8 weeks of waiting (boo). Still we should get our taxes before the divorce is final so I guess that's good.

I also got a letter from Kathrynn's school about summer school. It's very very very important to these people that she be reading like a pro by third grade and since she's not up to their standards they think she should go to summer reading classes. I'm not sending her. Kathrynn HATES the forced reading from school. She's starting to say she hates reading which really disturbs me. But I loved the wording on the letter they sent...

Dear Parents,
CONGRATULATIONS! Your child has been nominated to attend summer classes. As you are aware, the Kennewick School District has established high goals and expectations for every child and believes all children need to be reading independently and well by third grade to gain the skills needed in math, science, social studies, and other complex content areas.

The purpose of the summer program is to provide children with intense reading instruction and a variety of opportunities to increase and apply reading skills. The Summer Reading Program will be offered at no cost. Attendance is vital; we do insist that you and your child be committed to attending daily for the full summer program so that they can take full advantage of this extra instruction in reading.
Children will be assigned to the elementary school hosting the summer school program which is closest to your home or daycare address.

Bussing will be provided to and from the same address if the address is outside the walking boundary to the elementary summer school to which your child is assigned.
We are excited to be able to provide this opportunity and expect it to be both beneficial and enjoyable for your child. Please enroll your child by completing the attached registration form and returning it to your child's school immediately. Students are selected on a needs basis and "first come, first served." If the form is not returned in a timely manner your child's spot will be offered to another student. If you have any questions regarding your child's reading needs, contact their teacher or the building reading specialist. If you have any questions regarding the summer reading program please contact your child's school.

I just love how they make it out to be this huge honor! Anyway we won't be doing it. The official reason will be because Kathrynn is spending that portion of the summer with her father.

In other non mail related news I went in and payed $40 to make an appointment with the Court Facilitator. Next Monday she and I will sit down and fill out the divorce papers. Then I will send them to Shawn to sign before filing them. Hopefully since no one is planning any fighting or contesting this will all be done about 90 days after the papers are filed. It would have been cool to have it all legalized on Independence day wouldn't it. LOL But I think it will be more like September.

Mission: Euphemism

Today while driving I was absentmindedly thinking about a term I've heard too much lately... 'well hung'. It's sort of a silly thing to think about I know, but then I was thinking about how the female equivalent of that term might be 'stacked'. A few others I could think of were 'package', 'rack', and 'junk in the trunk'.

Then suddenly I felt like organizing my closets! LOL

Censored

I haven't been updating much because most of my life right now wouldn't get a PG rating. LOL NC17 at the very least. And I don't feel comfortable spilling it all out here.

Lets just say I am living out a long unfulfilled dream from my teen years. It's not illegal, but it's no where near moral. And leave it at that.

;)
